3 A Levels, Maths B, Physics B, Computer Science B
1998-2002: University of Sussex
BSc, Maths and Artificial Intelligence:My third year project was an investigation into the use of learning algorithms to distinguish between classes of images. I used Neural Networks, Radial Basis Networks, and Nearest Neighbour, to identify species of leaves. These pattern matching techniques were coupled to a computer vision front end, to see if a computer could identify the species of a leaf from just a limited amount of information obtained by looking at the leaf. I managed to build an identification system that correctly identified 85% of a set of 200 leaves
2002-2004: Southbank Systems PLC
I worked as an Analyst Programmer developing asset management software. My day to day duties involved database design, developing new functionality for our software, and bug fixing. I worked with SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase databases. The main programming language used was Powerbuilder.
2004-Current Date: Spannerworks LTD
I currently work as a Search Engine Optimiser (SEO) for an internet marketing company. This involves maximising a websites visibility online, therefore driving increased traffic to the site. A lot of this work involves elements of web design, and the development of software to make our day to day jobs easier.
During my time here, I've continued my database work with the software development that I've undertaken. I've also learnt several new programming languages (VB, ASP(.NET), Javascript, VBScript)
