<p><a href="http://www.eupha.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer">The European Public Health Association</a> (EUPHA) is an umbrella organization for public health associations and institutes in Europe. EUPHA has 75 members from 38 countries and brings together around 37,000 European public health experts for professional exchange and collaboration. EUPHA is an international, multidisciplinary, scientific organization that promotes integrated approaches to public health.</p>
<p>EUPHA organizes the annual <a href="https://ephconference.eu/" rel="noopener noreferrer">EPH Conference</a>, the premier scientific conference on public health in Europe and the annual European Public Health Week, which raises awareness and strengthens collaboration across the continent. EUPHA is involved as a partner in several EU-funded research projects, often supporting dissemination and communication activities.</p>

<p><strong>Senior Communications Officer</strong></p>
<p><strong> Utrecht (hybrid), 32-36 hours per week</strong></p>
<h2><strong>Your role</strong></h2>
<p>As Senior Communications Officer, you will work closely with the Communications Manager. Together you are responsible for all communications for EUPHA and the EPH Conference. From March 2026, the Communications Manager will be on maternity leave, which means you will temporarily deliver all communications. This is a high-impact, hands-on role at the centre of European public health, requiring initiative and the ability to work across different simultaneous workstreams.</p>
<p>You will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the EUPHA team, EPH Conference team, EUPHA’s 29 Sections, and various external partners.</p>
<h2><strong>Key responsibilities</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>Deliver day-to-day communications for EUPHA and EPH Conference across websites, social media, newsletters, publications, and briefings.</li>
<li>Lead communications planning and execution for the 2026 EPH Conference in Bilbao.</li>
<li>Lead communications planning and execution for the 2026 European Public Health Week.</li>
<li>Create high-quality (visual) content for all channels, including newsletters, website updates, social media, project dissemination, campaigns, and marketing materials.</li>
<li>Manage effective communication with EUPHA members, subscribers, and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Support EUPHA’s 29 Sections in increasing the visibility of their work, including webinars, supplements, mid-term conferences, and other activities.</li>
<li>Oversee communications work within EU-funded projects, including dissemination activities, deliverables, and stakeholder updates.</li>
<li>Act as a point of contact for communications with EUPHA-associated entities, including the <a href="https://academic.oup.com/eurpub" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>European Journal of Public Health</em> (EJPH)</a> and <a href="https://eupha.org/euphanxt/" rel="noopener noreferrer">EUPHAnxt</a> as needed.</li>
<li>Coordinate production with external creatives (designers, photographers, videographers).</li>
<li>Monitor performance across channels and provide insights that support continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Act as a point of contact for stakeholder and press enquiries, in close collaboration with the Executive Director.<strong> </strong></li>

<h2><strong>Your profile</strong></h2>
<p>This all-round communications role brings together planning, judgment, and hands-on delivery. Becoming successful as the Senior Communications Officer means you:</p>
<ul>
<li>Are enthusiastic about strengthening public health in Europe.</li>
<li>Have strong experience as an all-round communications professional, ideally in an international, research, health, or NGO environment.</li>
<li>Can quickly understand complex public health topics and communicate them clearly to diverse audiences.</li>
<li>Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.</li>
<li>Are confident managing multiple deadlines and navigating fast-moving priorities.</li>
<li>Advise and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver clear, consistent communications.</li>
<li>Thrive in an environment where you manage your own workload, anticipate needs, and keep projects moving independently.</li>
<li>Are comfortable producing polished (visual) content (Canva and CMS) yourself while also coordinating with external partners.</li>
<li>Preferably hold a relevant master’s degree and have multi-year professional experience.</li>
